How Does Locums Work
When you contact Medical Doctor Associates (MDA) the process
begins by defining your specific needs by specialty, time
period, and details of the assignment. These details will
be discussed with you by one sales consultant at MDA -
 |
Single contact service: When you call,
one person will give you their undivided attention - before,
during, and after your locum tenens provider has been
placed. Our sales consultants are organized by geographic
territories and specialties so they become very familiar
with the geography and the healthcare needs of your community. |
 |
Finding the right provider: The step
is to find the provider that meets your specifications.
We have many strategies for finding the right doctor including
a database of providers that have contracted through MDA
for years. You are under no obligation until you accept
a physician for specific dates. |
 |
Credentialing and privileging support:
MDA's in-house Credentials Verification Organization is
certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance
(NCQA) and provides primary source verification.

Travel, housing, and transportation:
MDA has a full-service in-house travel company that works
with the sales consultant to make all these arrangements.
|
 |
Payment: After the physician has filled
the locum tenens placement, MDA will bill your practice
or facility and compensate the provider who is an independent
contractor. |
 |
Post-Assignment Evaluations: MDA contacts
your facility after each assignment to determine your
satisfaction. But at any time during the assignment you
have concerns or questions the sales consultant is available
to speak with you. |
