a Solid Gold Practice Opportunity
Objectives:
- Make residents aware of the realities of the physician
job market
- Educate residents about mistakes physicians frequently
make prior to accepting their first jobs, and show them
how to avoid repeating these mistakes
- Equip residents with tried-and-true techniques that will
help them make the most of their interviews
- Outline the benefits a resident should expect to receive

how, and with whom they should practice
Panning for Gold is an educational presentation
designed to aid residents as they move beyond residency and
into practice. There are numerous questions to ask when considering
a practice opportunity, and sometimes the most important questions
are the ones that residents do not know to ask. MDA recognizes
that choosing a practice is one of the toughest, most important,
and most stressful choices a resident will make.
Attending this lunch ‘n learn presentation will help
the residents determine what they should be looking for, how
to find it, how to prepare for the interview, and how to go
about contract negotiation. Aaron Paul’s goal with "Panning
for Gold" is to remove the stress associated with choosing
a practice and replace it with confidence.

Know Your Latin!
- What Every Resident Should Know About
the Locum Tenens Option
Objectives:
- Make residents aware that permanent practice is only
one of many post-residency options
- Give residents the financial numbers and statistics that
demonstrate locum tenens physicians' constantly increasing
importance within the medical community
- Show that many doctors believe that locum tenens is the
most satisfying practice option
- Demonstrate how physicians desiring to go into permanent
practice can use locum tenens as a working interview
- Make residents aware of the differences between locum
tenens agencies, and the impact those differences can have
upon their locum tenens experiences
Know Your Latin! is an educational presentation
designed to increase residents' awareness of their practice
options within the medical community. While most residents
choose a permanent practice upon completion of residency,
it is by no means the only choice. Survey data shows that
more and more residents are working as locum tenens straight
out of residency. Medical Doctor Associates recognizes this
trend and designed this presentation accordingly.
Through the Know Your Latin! presentation,
Aaron Paul seeks to give residents all the facts about locum
tenens. Attending this presentation will give each resident
a better understanding of locum tenens and the ways it differs
from permanent practice. It will also help the residents determine
whether locum tenens is an option that fits their personal
and career goals, and will provide the information necessary
to differentiate between locum tenens agencies.
